It's pretty awesome that "Lazy Eye" by the Silversun Pickups has unofficially become the song of the 2008 All-Star game. But it's too bad this has anything to do with the Yankees and their monstocity of a ballpark.
I love the All-Star break but the week leading up to it is the worst. The term 'snub' is thrown around so much you'd think it was a big deal or something. Listen, the All-Star vote means you are most likely the pinnacle at your position through a little over half the season. And then some extras are thrown in to make a complete, playable roster. Anyone who actually is adament about this is some jackass fan bantering to his buddy about x-amount of players his team fielded for the All-Star game.
Also, the value of the term all star is pretty low in Joe's foreign currency exchange due to the fact that Ken Griffey, Jr. was just hours away from winning the starting RF job for the National League until upstart nancy Ryan Braun won the love of the masses. Really, America?! Griffey? Last I checked, being the fourth or fifth most relevant hitter in your lineup for a last place team is NOT bordering on grounds of All-Star.
